Katie Cotrano
Katie Cotrano has been teaching high school English in the Chicagoland area for 15 years. She currently teaches Advanced Placement Literature and Composition and Language Arts. Katie loves a good book, a deep conversation, and a strong cup of coffee. She is inspired by the gift of language and its power to build empathy and self-knowledge. Katie is passionate about fostering a love of reading in her students, helping them to become better writers and critical thinkers, and inspiring them to realize their true potential. She strongly believes in the power of humor in the classroom, and Katie and her students can always rely on each other or Oscar Wilde for a good laugh. She holds a Bachelor’s in Secondary English Education from Saint Xavier University (Chicago), a Master’s in English Literature from Northwestern University (Evanston), and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lewis University (Romeoville). When she’s not working with students or immersed in a good book, you will find Katie spending time with her husband and their five children on their hobby farm.
