Show Your Growth. Celebrate Your Impact with ESGI

Imagine this: The music starts to swell, and one by one, your kindergarteners step onto a red carpet. They aren’t just wearing crowns; they’re wearing badges of honor that list every single skill they have mastered. Their classmates are cheering, teachers are clapping, and even administrators are stopping in their tracks to witness the joy.

This isn’t just a school assembly—it’s what happens when student growth becomes something you can actually see.

At Thompson Elementary in Clark County, this "Red Carpet Moment" didn’t happen by accident. It happened because a team of teachers decided to turn data into a celebration. The best part? You can do this too.

“They Feel Like Rock Stars” Celebrate Growth Red Carpet

We sat down with the kindergarten team at Thompson Elementary to hear how they brought this vision to life. Kindergarten teacher Georgina Martinez sees the transformation firsthand. "When the kids walk down the red carpet, they get to have their friends clap for them," she shares. Whether it’s mastering letter sounds, counting, or sight words, the celebration is deeply personal.

When a student’s level is called, they stand a little taller. For students who have struggled, this moment is a game-changer. They aren't just learning, they are finally seeing physical proof of their own hard work. This visibility builds confidence that carries over into everything they do.

When Growth Becomes Visible, Everything Shifts

The "magic" isn't actually in the red carpet—it’s in the momentum that happens before the event even starts. When students can track their own progress, their mindset shifts:

    • Confidence Soars: Participation increases because students feel capable.
    • Families Connect: Parents become active partners because they finally have a clear window into the classroom.
    • Motivation Sparks: At Thompson, even students who hadn't hit their benchmarks yet started asking to practice more. They wanted their turn in the spotlight.

The Moment That Says It All

One story stood out to the team more than anything else. Jacqueline shared about a student who had been struggling for much of the year. This child had an IEP, and progress had not come easily at the start.

But over time, something began to change. By using ESGI data to provide targeted support and keeping communication consistent with the home, the growth started to build.

"This child has been struggling. But because we’ve been consistent with using our programs and collecting that data and sending it home… he’s been getting help at home as well. And now he has just grown tremendously."

And then something even more powerful happened. The student began to take ownership.

"He’s been asking me very consistently, ‘Can you test me? Can you test me?" Georgina says. What started as support turned into motivation. What started as practice turned into confidence. "Once we got that snowball effect… There was no stopping him."

    From Data to Celebration

If you’re thinking, "I want this for my students, but where do I start?"—the answer is simpler than you think. You don’t need more hours in the day; you just need the right insight.

Using ESGI, the Thompson team removed the "grunt work" of manual testing. They used the platform to:

    1. Assess quickly without disrupting the day's flow.
    2. Identify gaps and group students for targeted, small-group instruction.
    3. Communicate clearly so parents know exactly how to help at home.

    Advice from the ClassroomIMG_6802

The Thompson teachers know that trying something new can be daunting, but they want you to know the reward is worth it.

"Change is always a little scary and people want to fall into what they're used to," the team shared. "But this takes a lot of the grunt work out of it. You get all of your data compiled in one area. It makes it beautifully laid out."

Beyond the organization, the biggest win is the relationship with families. "Parents are understanding where their kids are at. There's no room for miscommunication. If you're keeping up with it and sending it home, there's no way for a parent to come back and say, 'I didn't know they were struggling' or 'I don't know what they're learning.' It's all right there."

    🎬 The Red Carpet Playbook

Ready to bring this to life? You don’t need to wait for a special occasion. You can start this week:

    1. Choose one skill to focus on.
    2. Assess your students (it only takes a few minutes!).
    3. Celebrate the wins, no matter how small.

As that momentum builds, you’ll see exactly what the Thompson team saw: when students believe in themselves, there is no stopping them.
